Transitions

My final month at Chaos Manor (read: rental housing), if all goes as planned. There may be more frequent postings to the "blog," given the uncertainty of finding adequate free Net access in the coming months.

Silence, Little Lamb!
My chat with the landlord yesterday revealed that the landlord's son has taken over the management of the dump. Hence, the grandiose renovation plans. Since the second refinancing of Chaos Manor, there has been zero equity available. So, the landlord's son is securing a $400,000 home equity loan on his "green" project fourplex in town to fund the remodeling. There are other troubling signs as well, too numerous to mention. Let's just state that Chaos Manor is a "house of cards."

I also chatted with the chick who resides in the attached studio at Chaos Manor, the first time ever since she moved in many moons ago. She is indeed moving out of the dump this week. She wanted to rent the two-bedroom unit in the back of the house but was refused by the landlord's son. The rent (when renovated) would be $2,500 per month. Anyway, she has already found a two-bedroom place in Hawai'i Kai for $1,900 per month rent.

A tropical storm passed over us in the late afternoon yesterday and finally caused a break in the heatwave. Mind you, the ambient temperature was still fairly high. Unfortunately, the heatwave was at full intensity by midday.

Typical Mission Hottie
The landlord's husband was at Chaos Manor when I retuned from town this afternoon. He mentioned that Tom, confirmed drunkard, had been checked into a budget rehabilitation program yesterday, most likely at a local church mission. So, he's gone for now. I also revealed the truth about what happened when Tom struck the cinder block wall with his vehicle.

Well, there will be a lot to do before my departure from the dump on November 1st. I have to procure a small suitcase and other sundries in order to facilitate a smooth transition. So, here we go!
