Luggage

I modified my evening outing at the den of consumerism (read: shopping mall) in Kahala in order to visit the new Ross® store (formerly the beloved bookstore). The place was jam-packed with shoppers at 7pm. From what I heard, the mob was even worse earlier. There were so many people that I was sweating profusely. Yeah, the air conditioning could not accommodate the crowd.

Typical Hard-Body Hottie
Rather than wait until Tuesday, I purchased the much needed luggage. So, no senior citizen discount. I couldn't risk waiting because the inventory might well be depleted by then. For $41 and some change, I procured a nice hard-body suitcase that is small enough to qualify as a "carry-on."

Sadly, when I returned to Chaos Manor, I discovered that the luggage was way too small to fit all of my remaining worldly possessions. However, I am not returning it for a larger size. If anything, more useless crap must be divested.

The sight of myriad shopping maniacs was sickening. People were stuffing shopping carts full of merchandise. An unknowing onlooker would have assumed that the Ross® store in Kahala was the only location on the whole island. Where are those fools getting the money?

  1. A perfectly good bookstore is replaced by a store peddling third world schlocky clothes and junky-ass household do-dads. Pretty soon, those Ross outfits are gonna be more common than Longs or ABC. The pestilential virulence that is Waikiki is spreading across the Islands faster than Ebola. Barnes and Ignoble might not have been the best bookstore in the town (there's a Communist bookshop in Puck's Alley that at least makes a stab at peddling the truth!) but they did have some good discount books.

    1. Stuff has been going quickly at Ross® Kahala. I went back the next day and discovered that the selection of small luggage that I had been looking at were all gone. Thank Molech that I purchased one the day before. By the way, I really miss the bookstore.
