Pods

My stay in Waimanalo will most likely be extended for another month. There have been no leads for affordable rental housing. So, let's proceed to the terse tidbits now, shall we?
  • The dreaded laundry chores have been streamlined with the implementation of detergent pods. The entire laundry process is being modified for future homelessness.
  • Homeless decision? Still pending. Divestiture of useless possessions and consumables continues unabated.
  • Mini-Update® tidbits have been discontinued. Any minor update will be available in terse mode.
Obviously, there's little else to report. Not to worry, though. The pictures of young hotties will always be updated. Baha! Ha! Ha! Haaa!

Bublé

Home prices in Hawai'i Kai are hovering at $1.4 million, on average. We're talking about small, three-bedroom, 1.75 bathroom, "cookie cutter" tract homes. In five years, those homes will be worth $2.75 million. Yes, my bro and sister-in-law are multi-millionaires as I edge toward homelessness.

Silence, Little Lamb!
Home prices in Honolulu are following an exponential curve. Left unchecked, the prices will double every five years. There has been no official proclamation of a "housing bubble," so the assumption is that assets are tracking at a "normal" rate. The implication is, of course, that zero-interest rate policy (ZIRP) and "quantitative easing" (QE) by the central bank of empire are permanent fixtures. And, yes, ZIRP and QE are permanent.

Room rentals are tracking exactly with rising home prices. That's why room rentals in shared quarters in Hawai'i Kai have approached $3,000 per month at the upper end. Apartment rentals, however, have been lagging and following a more reasonable, albeit subjective, "fair market" rate. That, too, will end soon as the housing shortage increases.

Wage slavery no longer produces wealth. A generic wage slave can only barely "stay afloat" financially. Wealth can only be acquired through extreme financial speculation in the rigged casino markets. Investments can only provide returns through capital gains. Most peons wage slaves cannot afford to participate in such an activity. Thus, incurring large amounts of debt is the only option to "get ahead," even though the wage slave becomes a debt slave as well.

Needless to say, the empire's stock market and housing market will continue to rise indefinitely. There will be no cataclysmic crash of either for many years to come, if ever, at least in empire. No entity is going to sacrifice the only means to wealth, even if it's a huge Ponzi scheme. As I stated previously in the "blog," even the doomsayers have "changed their tune." All but a handful have embraced the "system" with open arms. So, love it, or lose it.

Peeve

I am living month-to-month, not day-to-day, as the homeless decision looms. Toward the end of each month, I ask myself whether the time is right for homelessness. Let's face the facts, freedom is the issue. Yes, freedom.

Silence, Little Lamb!
Did you view the documentary, "Raft to Freedom," on RT? Did you view "The Hunger Games" and "Divergent" series of flicks? If that's not enough, check out Episode 749 of the "Keiser Report," also on RT. Freedom, specifically freedom from human tyranny, is the theme.

As much as I have attempted to persuade myself to enjoy my stay in the studio rental Waimanalo, I just cannot call the place a "home." In fact, I seriously doubt that there is a "home" for me anywhere. Every accommodation seems more like a prison cell, a temporary refuge from homelessness, or a tomb. Can a "home" exist without freedom?

And, what exactly is a "home"? Family? Offspring? Big house? Big bank? Big car? Certainly not a "man cave" or "bachelor pad." A "home" is a bloated venue of rampant consumerism. It is a prison disguised as a mausoleum, to serve as a secure fortress as well as to console its inmates with mind-numbing diversions. It is, of course, the pinnacle of wage slavery.

The entirety of "modern" life centers around wage slavery, at least for the rank-and-file peons. Wage slavery supposedly purchases freedom. Actually, it only allows individuals to lease freedom. Thus, freedom is usurped by even more forms of slavery.

Ol' Lavahead Mini-Update®
One of the two cheap "smartphones" has been configured for VOIP telephony using a wireless Net hotspot. Unlimited free calls are now possible within empire. The current costly no-contract cellphone plan can be mummified. At some undetermined future date, the cheap "flip phone" will be activated with a limited, low cost plan.

Cheapskate

Same ol' shit. That sums up the entire situation as we await the "big decision." More terse tidbits are offered during the interim:
  • A cheap TracFone® "flip phone" for $8 was procured as part of the future conversion to deeper mendicancy or possible homelessness. The service, when activated, will cost $20 for three months.
  • The flick, "Mockingjay Part 1," was downloaded via bit-torrent by one of the cheap "smartphones." The theatrical viewing was missed due to extreme procrastination. Not a bad flick, but probably not worth the exorbitant price of admission.
  • Homeless decision? Pending. Divestiture of personal possessions continues unabated.
As stated previously, same ol' shit.

Insurgence

Viewing the flick, "Insurgent," was the highlight of the entire year so far. While not quite as intriguing as the first flick of the series, "Insurgent" was not a disappointment by any means. Unfortunately, I won't be viewing any other flicks. I am now only following the "Divergent" series.

Silence, Little Lamb!
By the way, I happened to view an interesting documentary on the RT news stream. "Raft to Freedom" followed the journey of "Minister" Steven Brigham, who is homeless by choice, as he seeks places of refuge and advocates for the homeless. What I found most interesting are his comments about freedom.

Freedom and mortality are now the only two issues that concern me. Well, pretty much every other issue is intertwined with the latter and former. In other words, the entirety of the "human condition" revolves around both.

My latest findings? The "ownership society" infringes upon personal freedom. The flaw in the concept is the premise that "ownership" buys freedom. Instead, "ownership" essentially creates prison cells wherein we, the occupants, are reduced to a life of solitary confinement. Venturing outside the prison cell is considered trespassing on private property, that is, unless admission is paid to enter the venue. Only the truly affluent class can afford to purchase freedom. Yet, one has to wonder, is purchased freedom really freedom? Or, is it simply leased until the money runs out?

Homelessness on the island has finally reached epidemic proportions. The situation is totally out of control. In the last few days, I have observed the increased popularity of motorhomelessness, and not restricted to minivans either. A quick check of the rental housing market revealed that asking rents for rooms in shared quarters continue to climb. The high end is approaching $3,000 per month. On average, rent for rooms has gone up $100 per month since my last discussion on the matter.

Of course, the ramifications for me are obvious. I can choose to remain in Waimanalo, or I can become homeless. I am not willing to pay $800 upward for a small room in shared quarters. So, once I decide to leave Waimanalo, I will definitely be joining the ranks of the motorhomeless. As I have stated previously, there are no other options.

I should also mention that my interest in working out at the gym is waning. There just seems to be no purpose, given my advanced age. Yet, I know that my physique will degenerate rapidly once I stop working out. Once the flab sets in, there's no hope for recovery.

Insurgent

Nothing out of the ordinary has occurred since the previous post. Same ol' shit. Only a handful of terse tidbits are worthy of mention:
  • On Monday afternoon, I finally viewed the flick, "Insurgent" (i.e. the sequel to "Divergent"), at the theater complex in Hawai'i Kai. Very enjoyable.
  • Homeless decision? Still pending. The suspected crackdown on the homeless by the authorities has been verified by local news sources, by the way.
  • A crackdown on the motorhomeless is also in effect. The various homeless motorhomes in the Waimanalo area have vanished. No doubt, there will be confirmation in the local news media soon.
  • Divestiture of useless possessions continues. My one-and-only piece of luggage is being emptied.
As I stated, same ol' shit. That is, aside from a surprise visit by the Google® surveillance robot at 6:30pm HST. Bah, humbug!

Cubit

Can the Nissan® Cube be fashioned into a homeless motorhome? That's the big question ever since the purchase of the odd vehicle was made.

Cube Motorhome?
A couple of Cube owners posted pictures which featured minor modifications to provide sleeping accommodations inside the vehicle. The owners, while not homeless, appeared to be successful.

Cube Motorhome?
Obviously, there would be little room for storing all necessities. Thus, renting an external storage unit would be required.

Nissan® Cube
In summary, the possibility of deploying the Nissan® Cube as a homeless motorhome is somewhat feasible. A luxury minivan is not necessary.

Crunch

According to local news sources, there is a severe housing crunch on the island. So much so that median home and condo prices have skyrocketed. At least 66,000 new single-family dwellings would be required to quell the crisis. Of course, rising home prices means increased property taxes and correspondingly high rental rates.
  • My homeless buddy should be in Vietnam by now. Prior to his departure, he said that he may return earlier than his planned six-month stay. Why? Only street homelessness awaits him when he returns.
  • Maka has decided to mummify the homeless motorhome plan. He discovered that even ten-years-old minivans were carrying $10,000+ price tags. So, he is once again looking for cheap housing.
  • Homeless decision? Pending, given the new housing data. Tentatively, I have given myself a budget of $10,000 for future rent. After that arbitrary sum is depleted, I will Maka and my homeless buddy on the streets.
In the meantime, life goes on for the ol' lavahead. Same routine. Same agenda. Same itinerary. Same ol' shit.

Cubic

On Tuesday (last week), I ran into Mark and Bill, former Asylum faculty, respectively. Although I enjoyed the conversations, I can safely state that social contacts are not a priority for me. Engaging in small talk has also become laborious. In other words, I am a true loner. My psychological profile, no doubt, is similar to typical nefarious fringe members of society. Sheesh!

Silence, Little Lamb!
The homeless decision is still pending, and for good reason. My observations seem to indicate that there is a concerted, albeit uncoordinated, crackdown on homeless people. Homeless motorhomes are not exempt. I am expecting the homeless situation to "come to a head" very soon. Obviously, I don't wish to be "caught with my pants down" when the "shit hits the fan." So, the homeless decision remains undecided.

And, what about the Nissan® Cube? Although I really like the vehicle, I feel unsafe and vulnerable when driving it. Nearly all of the other vehicles on the road are much larger than the Cube, and the crazed motorists appear to have no qualms about showing me who is the "boss" of the road. I rarely experienced that kind of intimidation when I owned the big-ass pickup truck. What I have also observed is that the personality of the driver of a particular type of vehicle is modified by the vehicle's size.

So, why did I settle for the Cube? It is basically a chick's automobile. Low testosterone, you think? As for the styling, I determined that its unattractive exterior will never be outdated. Other seemingly more attractive vehicles, especially in the budget class, look dated and "ratty" in a couple of years.

Flux

Everything is in a state of flux. Changes are happening very rapidly. A decision made is obsolete in a few seconds. My own actions and decisions appears to be careless, sporadic, with little thought involved. Not so. Anyway, the tidbits remain terse:
  • Divestiture of consumables and useless possessions continues.
  • Homeless decision? Postponed, not mummified.
More details in future posts. Just remember that there's no fool like an old fool or an April fool. Baha! Ha! Ha! Haaa!
