I have intentionally not paid for another month of service with the CDMA carrier of the locked cheap "smartphone." I have a two-month grace period before the cheap "smartphone" is rendered useless. Well, it will essentially become a small tablet computer. Nothing more, nothing less.

Typical CDMA Hottie |
In the eight months of service with two different CDMA carriers and two different cheap "smartphones," I have made two phone calls, sent only a few useless text messages to unknown recipients, and used basically nothing of my data allocation. For all of that, I wasted about $400 or so.

Typical "Smartphone" Hottie |
I have no use for any kind of phone. I despise the phone. Actually, no one even knows my phone number. So, I neither make or receive calls. And, because I am no longer actively searching for rental housing, the need for a cheap "smartphone" is non-existent.
|
Typical Replacement Hottie |
I thought about replacing the cheap "smartphone" with a small tablet computer using a previously despised "other" operating system. For $80 and some change, I could acquire one immediately. However, it is still far bigger than the average "smartphone." So, the idea was immediately mummified.

Typical GSM Hottie |
So, my only choice is to use the cheap "smartphone" as a tablet computer. I can disable the cellphone radio using "airplane mode." The other option is to purchase an unlocked GSM "smartphone," although it will not be cheap (i.e., under $50). I could then purchase a "pay and go" cellphone plan for $10 covering 90 days of minimal service from
H2O Wireless®.

Silence, Little Lamb! |
In any case, I would be required to keep a small computing device handy. All of my financial transactions are done on-line. And, only a "smartphone" is the perfect size. Sheesh! Bring on the hotties of Summer already!
